The SDC Iron Designer Challenge

The Challenge
In front of a live audience, teams must design and build a small life-size structure out of everyday materials.

Materials
All building materials will be supplied to you on the day of the event. You will receive a complete list of these materials a month in advance to begin your design. There will be a "secret material" unveiled during the event that teams must integrate into the structure.

Teams
Each team will be comprised of 4 professionals and 3 students from the SDC. You will be assigned these students one month in advance of the event so that they may participate in planning and concept design.

Time
On Thursday, June 9th, the teams will have a total of
3 hours to build beginning at 5:00pm.

Judging
Judging will take place by industry specialists during the last 2 hours of construction.
More information on the Jury and Awards.

Location
The outdoor garden and/or gymnasium at the
School of Design and Construction.
